Heterotope Ossifikationen nach gelenknahen Frakturen
Klinische Bedeutung, aktueller Stand und Ausblick der Therapie

Andere Therapieansätze versuchen die induzierende Wirkung der hypoxischen Umgebungsbedingungen aufzuheben. Durch die Unterstützung der Mikrozirkulation im verletzten Gewebe, z.B. durch Anwendung von Hydroxyethylstärke (HES) oder gepulste elektromagnetische Feldtherapie (PEMF), konnte die Ausprägung heterotoper Ossifikationen signifikant reduziert werden [16, 41]. In diesem Zusammenhang ist der HIF1?-Signalweg von zentraler Bedeutung, sodass die Inhibitoren PX-478 und Rapamycin bereits in verschiedenen Tiermodellen heterotope Ossifikationen reduzieren oder sogar verhindern konnten [1].
